the summer sun.

For being a girl who really likes rain, there's just something about that warm glow of the sun. I think I fully started to appreciate sun more when I became a photographer... I'm finding out that I prefer warm sunny images to dark moody ones. :) It's amazing how much light can change the look of a photograph. I think that is the key to becoming a better photographer! Learning how to manipulate light and use it to your advantage; something I am trying to do all the time.

Blog readers, I hope you are all doing well! Thanks for stopping by; this is basically just a blog post to say I'm alive (I feel terrible if I go more than 48 hours without blogging, so I rarely do!) but just swimming in schoolwork and business tasks right now! I'm excited though! God has been totally blessing me lately and speaking such truth into my life; I'm excited to share what's up--one thing I do know is that I booked two completely awesome couples this weekend for summer weddings. That always makes my day!

Here's some photos of me working my Shootsac during the summer in Chicago when I stayed at Sarah's house. Sarah took the photos of course. This was during a fun little break while we (Sarah, Vickie--the other intern--and I) were shooting Emmy and Alan's incredible wedding.

Oh sun, I miss you. This wedding was held on such a beautiful day; I've never seen blue skies so incredible.

I miss these girls a lot!

Happy really late Tuesday, or early Wednesday. ;)

You know what i love best about photography. One simple fact. It's okay to break the rules. You have a great ability to shoot into the sun. I was taught and maybe you were too that this was a no- no but in todays photography and dress styles, anything goes as long as it is pleasing to the eye. By the way I am going to go on an Alaskan cruise and will be visiting Vancouver BC this June. I would love to meet you if at all possible during our short stay. I'll keep in contact.

My whole perspective of light changed when I started becoming serious about photography. I'm soaking in these beautiful days as I know dark ones are just around the corner!
