vanessa & josh | wedding

Last weekend, I spent my beautiful sunny Saturday second-shooting a wedding with Melody Davis all around the Lower Mainland. It was fun to second shoot for Melody, as just six days before, she had done the same for me at Jason and Nicole's Wedding! I started the day off with Josh and his groomsmen in Langley, and met Melody and the girls at Vanessa's Dad's beautiful home also in Langley. After a sweet and totally God-centered ceremony, we all headed off to Vancouver where we photographed portraits in Gastown. The reception was held at the Waterfront Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The entire day was simply a fairytale: Vanessa's dress was stunning on her and I had a pretty big obsession about her shoes, just wait until you see them!
Vanessa and Josh put together a seamlessly stylish day that truly celebrated their love! Obviously, just being a second shooter, I didn't have the privilege of meeting either of them until the wedding day. They are both dolls and just so much fun. They actually first met at TWU, once again, another TWU couple: oh Christian schools! ;) Josh was Vanessa's tutor in one of their Business classes, and that was the first time they became friends. Another note, can I just say one of the goofiest wedding parties ever? They were so up for a good time!
Warning: Major photo overload. I didn't post a slideshow, because I wasn't there for the girl's getting ready, parts of the ceremony and reception, etc, so there are about 35 shots below.
Oh details! Will I ever get enough? I loved Vanessa and Josh's crisp black and white with a splash of green color-scheme.
Cutest. Ringbearer. Ever.
Cutest ringbearer feet (x2) ever.
The ceremony was under three tents in the backyard, and as always, I loved the moment where Vanessa's dad walked her down the aisle and gave her away.
Amaaaazing: their first prayer together as husband and wife.
Married!
Vanessa and her half-brother; don't they look alike?!
During the portrait time, Melody photographed Vanessa with the bridesmaids while I took Josh and the groomsmen for a few shots.
Oh boys. They got a little creative.
I had so much fun taking these shots! It's so rare that I have 30 minutes to "just" focus on the guy's shots; it was a blast.
A fun group pic! Don't you love the bridesmaid's bouquets?
Really really ridiculously good-looking people. :)
Vanessa and Josh really had this exact shot in mind and even brought rose petals specifically for the portrait time. It turned out so cute, but if you saw the series it's hilarious; Josh definitely ate some petals.
The men like to do kung-fu. I was really impressiv with Josh's height in this one, so I had to blog it: check it out, his foot is covering his face! Dedication & Commitment, I tell ya!
Cute cute cute. Amazing shoes.
AH! How funny is this?! Melody totally spotted this in the alley and framed this shot; I can't take credit for it, but I just loooove the caption; we should have crossed out girlfriend and wrote "wife."
I love the lights around Gastown.
Woah.
Once again, Melody's idea; isn't it adorable? The man playing the guitar said, Oh, I can move if you like and we were both like No! We need you in it! :)
So serene!
Ack, they are SO cute.
One of my favourite photos from the day, hands down. Love it in B+W too.
More bridal party fun-ness. This was on the rooftop terrace of the hotel.
This is a shot I didn't want to miss. I caught Josh doing some pretty amazing posing while Melody was off setting up another shot.
Finally a reception detail to finish it off!
Vanessa and Josh, THANK you for allowing me to capture your day and Melody, thanks again for SUCH a fun time. You are SO sweet!
