Spinning towards the future.

See those little words, wrapped around and around in circles? That's what my head fills like right now. Filled up, to the brim; full. I have so many things on the go, sometimes I think I have gone temporarily (well, let's hope it's temporarily!) insane. I have a lot of new things in the works for my business--I am always growing, always changing, always expanding, always thinking--and I can't wait to see them come to life. One project in particular I've been working for the past two and a half months on.
This summer has been a crazy amazing full-time adventure, and starting Saturday I will be attending Trinity Western University as a full-time student for the Fall and Spring semesters. As a kid, I always dreamed of going to university and never considered that I wouldn't attend! So even when God handed me this incredible career a year ago, and then when He just exploded handfuls of blessings into my life over the past two or three months, I knew I still needed to try the University thing, if only for a year. It'll be a fine balance between social activities, school work and my business: but I'm doing this for me. It's so easy to just have the "me" in your business completely swallowed up. It becomes all about what you're doing, what you're accomplishing, who you're meeting, where you're going:: you can forget about "you!" and in my case, my life goals, my purpose--I'm hoping that these next crazy 8 months when I'm doing full-time school and a full-time business will help me to step back and say, "Who is me? What does she desire out of her life?" It's a weird feeling jumping into such an incredible career right out the doors from high school. I literally graduated and started working ten-hour days at my computer the next day. Eight weeks has gone by and here I am! And I'm about to step through another door in my life, the University door...most likely wearing the shoes pictured above. :)

totally totally do-able (fulltime school and fulltime business). Plus you'll basically be thrown into the deep-end and have to learn so so much about time management/etc.
It's awesome.
Also, even if it means only taking 1 class each semester - I encourage you to COMMIT to finishing a degree. It is so cliche - but you will really feel accomplished.
Can't wait to hear how the schooling is going...
THE cutest shoes ever btw!!! ha!!
I am SOOO excited for the next season God is bringing you into Jamie! It will be phenomenal I know! And I know it's not at all going to be a step back for your biz but a giant leap forward! :)
You are amazing photographer Jamie. It is so cool to see you letting God lead your life. He is amazing! Good luck at school. I look forward to more inspiring images from you.
Good luck! Seeing how much you've accomplished so far, the end of the spring semester will be here before you know it :)
And I completely second what Amy said, keep taking classes after the spring semester is over. Even if you don't complete a degree, take something that interests you or you want to learn more about--whether in photography and business or something completely unrrelated :)
MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES EVERRRRRR:)
love you and miss you.
MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES EVERRRRRR:)
love you and miss you.
It's hard no lie. Don't try and overdo it the first two weeks. I just started two weeks ago. Of course I have a full scholarship that has 15 thousand extra courses and activities. Plus you were smart for a business major. I am doing Fine Arts with taking the business classes I want to take (just leaving out the maths and stuff I don't need). So it is really really busy. But it is do-able. But just warning its hard the first two weeks!!!!
Good luck at TWU! Make sure you go to the O-week events - you will get so much more out of the TWU experience if you get to know people. And try to get adopted into a dorm - it's always nice to have a place to hang out there. Or a collegium - those are good too.
From,
A faithful blog reader who thinks your photography is amazing/a TWU alumni/Shawna's friend (I'm not just some random blog stalker - I found you through her :) )
Hey Jamie,
I've been reading your blog for a few months now, happen to be a fellow photographer and fellow canadian! I greatly appreciate your passion for photography as well as the fact you give God the glory for His leading in your life.I'm sure He will continue to bless you and use you at TWU.
Jamie -
Those shoes are adorable and I imagine they are going to take you very far in life!! ;)
Good luck on this new adventure and remember to set aside a few minutes from each to reflect on the good, bad, and what can be improved upon for the next day's journey!
Hey Jame - at this moment you are upstairs in your office furiously working and I am down in mine ... furiously working. Just stopped to read your blog and was reminded once again to stop and thank God for "opening the windows of heaven and pouring out His blessings." He promised me that He would do that for you and His promises never fail. Even though it may seem like you are overwhelmed at times, remember who "holds your world in His hands." It's all about Him! So blessed to have you as my friend and daughter. Love you so much!
