simply resting.

I'm a little disappointed in myself; it's been four days since I last blogged. I was on quite a blogging roll, and enjoying it, too. I haven't gone four days without blogging in a long time (with the exception of my trip to San Francisco earlier this month: even then I blogged the morning I left and then a day after I returned!) Anyway, this blog post is going to be a little scattered: and I guess this is what happens when I go four days without blogging; too much to write!
I shot Nathan and Paula's beautiful wedding on the Sunshine Coast yesterday. We had about three hours of travel time (including driving: waiting in lines, ferry, then driving) on each end of the ten hour wedding day coverage: safe to say it was tiring, but so worth it. My next wedding is not for three weeks: this will be my first week without a wedding since the end of June. I'm looking forward to a week away on an Alaskan Cruise coming up--I just feel myself needing the break real soon. I've done what feels like a lot of traveling in the past few weeks/months, shot a lot of weddings, worked with some amazing couples and I'm thrilled with how my summer has being going so far. I have been so blessed; no doubt.
When I was in Chicago, Sarah played this amazing song from her Ipod on our way downtown one morning. It's called "How He Loves Us" and it's by Kim Walker of Bethel Church in Redding, CA. It's an eight-minute live song that blows my mind every time. Kim's passion is incredible. I was talking with my second photographer/assistant Eileen yesterday as we were coming home from the wedding about God's love. It truly is so incomprehensible that I feel like I experience just a tiny bit more of it every stage, every season, every year of my life. What a gift that Kim Walker has! God has ministered to me through her song so abundantly this week.
Sarah sent me the .mp3 and I immediately put it on my iPod. I went for a run on Friday (long overdue; last time I had ran was Monday and I was craving it!!) and when "How He Loves Us" came on at the end of my run I ran twice as fast and ran 1/2 mile more than I was planning: the song is just that good I didn't want to stop. Also, listening to how amazing and loving and caring of a Father we have, I knew that he would give me the strength to run 100 miles if I needed; so surely I could run another half a mile.
I encourage you to watch/listen to Kim's song at the end of this post and just take today to reflect on His love, His rest. I know that's what I'll be doing. There are some beautiful blue cloudy skies out in Vancouver today (rare! usually we are all clouds and no blue!) and I'm planning to stretch out on the back deck and read a good book. A well-deserved rest.

I totally know how you feel about the blogging (or lack thereof LOL) I feel so guilty when I don't blog but i'm seriously not very good at typing out my thoughts... ugh! Not only that but my whole blog/site is being overhauled for a more modern look and feel! So it's all craziness right now! Have fun on your cruise! I'm going on my first cruise EVER in October for my honeymoon!
Absolutely "love" this song Jame! Since you introduced it to me a couple of days ago, I think I have listened to it about 6 times. He really, really loves us and it's all so undeserving. Amazing Love our Father pours on us every day!
Mom
That made me tear up!! The love of God is indeed unlike any other.
