my crazy mouth

This week has been, quite simply: crazy! I am very worn out and very much looking forward to the weekend. Between returning phone calls and emails, an amazing engagement shoot, two days of shooting a wedding, and a complete office re-organization and cleaning late last night, it's safe to say I'm glad I have my Saturday off! I think all of this crazy busyness is affecting my speech.
I always joke that my mouth doesn't really work after 8pm, because most of my words end up all jumbled and screwy and I say things like, "Yes, I'd love boffee": translation black coffee. Somehow the effort of forming two separate words is just too much work in the evening!
Yesterday evening, my Mom and I teared ourselves away from our computers (she works from home as well) and went for a walk in the park with Taylor. We were chatting about how many changes are taking place in my family's life over the next year and how many already have for the past. My mom turned fifty last year, my parent's had their 20th anniversary earlier this year, I just graduated, my dad turns sixty this year, my brother will start to drive, etc. Anyway, this beauty comes out of my mouth: "I'm looking forward to next year with Branishing off high school as well." That, ladies and gentleman, means Brandon finishing. Yes.
So today! We were running around getting all sorts of errands finished (shipping an engagement guest book, a handful of thank you notes, running to homesense, shopping at urbanbarn, dumping off a load at valuevillage, dropping off a friend's sweater I borrowed: all very exciting things.)
[Mom] You know we're going to have to get a Starbucks after this.
[Jamie] We are?
[Mom] Mmhm.
[Jamie] Sounds good to me...I'm so glad I've turned you into a Stim Horbucks fan.
Yes, folks. Check out that little gem: Stim Horbucks. Would you like a translation? So would I! Jamie's brain, could you please tell Jamie's mouth what you were meaning to communicate? Oh, whats that? I think the message is coming... ah yes.
[Jamie's Brain] I'm so glad I've turned you into a Starbucks fan rather than a Tim Hortons fan.
I laughed about that the entire drive home. I just repeated it over and over and over and over again. Stim Horbucks. That is brilliant! I couldn't have thought of that if I tried. Where does my mouth come up with this stuff?
Have a beautiful weekend everyone.
