Michael + Emma | Engagement

Phew! We have had a real burst of sunshine and heat for the last 48 hours, it's ridiculous. I have this love/hate affair with the heat. I used to absolutely loathe it, because it's uncomfortable and sticky and just gross; I've always been a rain with sweaters and tea kind of girl. But, for the last few vacations in Arizona and California, I've found myself really liking it. I changed my mind: I only like the heat when you can do nothing! Seriously, my home office is scorching, it happens to be the muggiest room in the house...though when I woke up this morning, it's a comfortable 20C (68F) and raining! I love it. :)
All that being said, the SUN was out in VANCOUVER; are you kidding me? I met Michael and Emma at a random spot in Willoughby, a section of Langley on Saturday night. It was my first time meeting these two and they are just a blast. They are opposites in so many ways, but similar in others! Michael is a dentist and Emma is entering her third year of a biochemistry graduate degree. Emma is a little wary of the camera, but Michael is the exact opposite: it's always good to have one half of the couple who is willing to loosen the other one up a little bit. Haha.
What gorgeous light!
This spot was in somebody's backyard! We found it as well as a neat red barn as we were walking past, and I said too bad we can't shoot there...if only it wasn't in their backyard and all. Michael goes, "Oh, I'll ask!" and of course I said sure! Before Emma and I can even walk a step further, he's on the doorstep ringing the doorbell. Emma is standing there rolling her eyes. Apparently Michael has been known to do similar things, much to Emma's embarassment!
This great tree was also in their front yard.
Cute little rod-iron gate we found in front of a new townhome complex.
I love the sunlight in photos!
We went all the way back to elementary school days on the basketball courts.
