Chris + Lesia | Engagement

We had yet another gorgeous day here on the West Coast yesterday. Originally, the forecast was calling for rain, and I was thrilled when the sun broke through the clouds in the afternoon. I met Chris and Lesia in the Kitsilano/Point Grey area of Vancouver yesterday for their engagement shoot. They booked me for their upcoming July wedding via email, so it was my first time to meet them in person. We had so much fun yesterday shooting some great pictures.
I'm very excited for their wedding in July, everything they have planned so far sounds amazing. The ceremony and reception will be held at the Cecil Green Park House at UBC. I drove around there last week when I was location-scouting, and it's truly a beautiful area. They are planning on having a small, intimate summer wedding with about sixty guests, many of them travelling from Ireland to attend! I totally clicked with Chris and Lesia, and am so glad they choose me to be their photographer. Lesia was cursed with the short gene as well, but it was nice to be taller than somebody for a few hours: even if it was only 1/4" taller. Not only are we both short, but Lesia is also an amazing artist; she has her own graphic design company.
We started off at this great school I found, called Queen Mary Elementary School. I wikipedia'd it, and found it was built in 1915! It is SUCH a beautiful campus. Man, I love downtown Vancouver!
Chris and Lesia go dancing once a week, and are planning a special "first dance" for their reception! I made sure they got lots of practice.
A neat little spot with a blue door Chris and I spotted at the same time.
After we finished at the school, we drove down to the beach for some fun by the pier...
Possibly my favourite shot from last night!!
Enjoy the slideshow below, Chris and Lesia. Looking forward to your fabulous day in July!

Great shots! My fav is the very last one...Can't wait to see what shots you get @ their wedding!
Hi Jamie!
Wow.. you rock! The slideshow made me teary. Great, if a slideshow makes me cry then I think I'm going to need some industrial strength waterproof makeup for the wedding.
I'm so critical of myself but I actually DO like how I look in most of the shots!! Seriously that's something really hard to do... so, you rock and I really look forward to you shooting our wedding. We're sending out an e-mail to all of our guests with your website and info on it as well. Thanks so much for the 'plug' as well ;)
