day one | las vegas

We're here, finally! After what seemed like a long day, we have arrived in Las Vegas. Or more specifically, Henderson, NV (a suburb of Las Vegas)--we are wayyy too cheap to stay anywhere downtown. It's pretty neat actually, because SO many photographers are in Las Vegas now for the annual WPPI conference. Even on my tiny Bellingham, WA to Las Vegas flight I heard three other photographers talking that were headed here. I wish I could attend, but hey, there's always next year!

About two weeks ago I bought a brand new camera, the Canon 5D and also a new lens: the beautiful 28mm f/1.8! I got to pick them both up today at our US mailing address and I am NOT disapointed. Wow. So beautiful. I said to my mom as we were walking into Applebee's tonight at 8:30 for dinner, I think I may love this camera more than my shoes...and believe me, that says a LOT. Because I really, really, really love my shoes.

I was playing with all the camera settings, and did this little cross process in camera. It's a funky look but not really my style...



Even my mom was excited for me...

Photographers, all the shots were taken with the 5D and 28mm f/1.8 at 1.8, beautifullll. And, I shot all JPEG for these. I love the color out of the 5D, it's amazing.
