Alaska - 2

Hello blog world! I am still coming to you from the mysterious state of Alaska. I truly had no idea what it would be like up here before I came! Also, I know I said I wouldn't be blogging again on this trip, but what can I say? I like my readers way too much. And I enjoy blogging! And taking pictures and blogging about them. So it's a win-win-win situation: what gets better than that?
One more photo of the amazing glaciers in Juneau, because I can't resist.
Last night we went through some incredible scenery; probably the most beautiful sight of the week yet! Amazing skies and mountains and snow and ocean and wow. There is this 1/3 mile running/walking track that goes all around the cruiseship and yesterday afternoon I spent about 45 minutes speedwalking outside, just listening to my ipod and taking it all in!
Today our ship docked in Skagway, Alaska in the morning--we went out into the town about noon to explore! It's such a cute little town, I think the population is about 10,000 but so many cruiseships stop here that there are a lot of tourists.
My brother is cute, hey?
This is my attempt at being cute, too.
Brother and sister.
Fact: Jamie Delaine will never turn down a piggyback ride. Unless she has just met you. Or if you haven't brushed your teeth recently. Or if you are smelling a little funky. Or if you are shorter than me, because I'm not sure how that would work, logistically speaking. So I have a few requirements!
Dad and Mom
We stopped in at this great touristy store that had so many wonderful hats and sweatshirts and socks and magnets and keychains and everything else touristy and wonderful! Stores like that just amuse me. I love it. We bought a few knick-knacky things, but of course, my dad and I discovered the hats. I swear I come across as ridiculous on my blog.
We stopped in at "Glacial Smoothies & Espresso" before we headed back to the boat. Seen as smoothies was in the shop title, pretty sure I had to have one. They were SOO GOOD! It took me about 10 minutes to decide which flavor to have because they had about 15 and I can be indecisive... I ended up with blueberry, raspberry, strawberry and grape juice. Good, good.
Note, the nice seed in the middle of my front tooth. Just in case it wasn't noticeable enough, I thought I'd zoom in. I truly have no shame: life is no fun if you can't make fun of yourself! I have the worst teeth for catching pieces of lettuce or seeds or corn or whatever else feels like staying a while. Oh, this photo makes me laugh.
I have this fascination with bicycle photos! I took so many when I was in Europe last summer and when I saw this cute bike against the blue wall, I had to stop and snap. :)
Here's a little gem of my brother and I at dinner the other night. I get such a kick out of genes, and how two people can have so many similar features. It really comes out when we make silly faces or are laughing...when we're serious we just look angry... not alike. Haha!
And to finish off this entry, in case you are wondering what I look like when I blog, this is pretty much it!

Great Pics Jamie! And you are always cute! and I LOVE your earrings!!!
Wonderful photos (I'm sure its even more gorgeous in person)! If you hadn't said the bike photo was in Alaska, I'd have thought Ireland first.
I sometimes wish I only looked like brother when we made silly faces, but that's the only time people don't question if we're twins!
Love it! You are so cute!
I think you pretty much have me convinced to go on an Alaskan cruise asap (which may not be for like five years but...haha).
Awww - I'm sorry I wasn't there for the hat try outs. Terry looks as goofy as ever. Ly
I love reading your posts!!! You are such a amazing person! What kind of camera do you have? Have a wonderful rest of your trip and look forward to your many more posts
